I agree and witness it every year. I work with a 'low performing' elementary school and although it is underscored that students have made progress but not yet on grade level the district and the way API is constructed does not acknowledge that growth. Having said that I still argue that one single high stakes test especially a normed referenced test does not provide you with the information you need to assess students nor a school. Multiple measures provide you with a better picture of growth. |
