How I heard about Network Democracy:

I heard about this thru a recent edition of ED Initiatives

My experience in this area:

I've been working on the Internet for 15 years, the most recent 11 as staff or faculty at MIT, UNC/Chapel Hill, and University of Oregon. I just went into private consulting on 6/30. Before I started at MIT, I was doing computer education and research systems, and I plan to continue that, as a private Internet consultant.

What I hope to learn:

Having grown up in rural Vermont, I'm a fanatic on universal service, including but not limited to rural datafication and civic-based freenets. I want to learn more from others in the same area, build coalitions -- and frankly, find some grant writing partnerships.
