Personal invitation from Laurie Maak.

My experience in this area:

A decade of dealing with rural connectivity issues for teachers and librarians via Big Sky Telegraph.

What I hope to learn:

Perhaps I'll achieve tangible ways I can really help. The many FCC initiatives create an overwhelming amount of material to wade through. RE: testimony due Aug. 15th on wireless. Few teachers and librarians, I suspect, could deal with the huge volume of text, never mind the complexity of the issues. How info-ren folks use online discussions to simplify and organize collection of input is of great interest to me, as its this level of actual *use* of the medium for purposeful outcomes that is missing amid most online activities I've witnessed.
