How I heard about Network Democracy:

Our Executive Director had received an update on Department of Education initiatives from Kirk Winters. She is on a list for the USDOE as we maintain the comprehensive center for the state of Texas which provides training and technical assistance for Title I, Title VII, Migrant Ed, Safe Drug-Free Schools, and American Indian Education. We must use telecommunications to provide services to our clients.

My experience in this area:

I am a bilingual educator who has worked for educational equity for twenty years. My Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and my experience as a teacher, principal, supervisor, and professional developer have given me a very thorough understanding of teaching and learning. I have experimented with instructional technology, seeking creative applications for students from K - adult education for the past fifteen years.

What I hope to learn:

I seek ways that we can improve access to telecommunications for low-income, minority, and limited-English proficient children and adults and ways to encourage teachers to use telecommunications for learning.
