How I heard about Network Democracy:

A posting on the Muni-telecom E-mail list.

My experience in this area:

We are currently in the process of fielding a CATV based data network in our base housing area for the benifit of the local residents. The technical side has been proven and is in place but there are still many legal and funding issues which still need to be resolved. The basic goals of this project are to provide general internet access, specialized local information content, E-mail services, and secure access to the work area network to our housing are residences. As such we are operating much like a municipality rather than a Government agency. Unfortunately, we are bound by Congressional regulation and public law in our efforts to provide these services.

What I hope to learn:

I hope to find precidents for similar activities so that we can provide networking services to our housing area residences within the constraints of Congressional regulation and public law.
