How I heard about Network Democracy:

I currently subscribe to the ED-INFO Listserv. A message re: the online workshop was posted today.

My experience in this area:

For the past six years, I have been working at Belmont Technical College where I have been involved in the implementation of the OhioLink project, the statewide library/information network which connects all state institutions of higher education [central catalog, databases, gateway to the Internet....]. Having experienced firsthand the power of information technology, I believe I can serve as a powerful advocate for its use throughout all of education. We here at Belmont are very interested in moving the institution toward a "learner-centered paradigm". This philosophy certainly demands access to information using not only traditional resources but also those now available on the Internet. This is especially important in Appalachia.

What I hope to learn:

I am eager to experience the opinions of others re: issues that directly and indirectly relate to the Telecommunications Act.
