- How I heard about Network Democracy:
- Email from ISACS.
- My experience in this area:
- Although I come from a family of educators, I spent the first 20 years of my working career in business (marketing and management). I came back to education as a volunteer at my daughter's school. After volunteer hours, followed by substitute teaching (in all areas K-8). I felt compelled to address the school's achaic computer system (one lab with 10 Apple IIe's networked). After considerable evaluation and investigation, I developed a proposal for the school board of trustees that allowed us to bring tomorrows technology to the school today -- on a self-funding basis.
The computer lab is now equipped with 12 Pentuim computers, all with 4X CD ROM's, one flat bed color scanner, one hand held color scanner, two color printers, a wide screen tv (attached to one computer for demo purposes) all connected to a large Novell server (that also serves the administration office) with tape back up and uninterruptible power supply. The entire lab in connected to the internect via one ISDN
- What I hope to learn:
- I hope that I can learn from others:
- additional ways to use our resources
- funding sources for even better equipping our students for the future
- help others to accomplish their technological goals
- Additional comments:
- Please let me know if there is anything that I maight to to help with this process.
