How I heard about Network Democracy:

I read about the seminar on the ed initiatives listserv.

My experience in this area:

I first started with educational telecommunications 10 years ago. Since then I became involved with the development of the Buffalo Free-Net and have served on its steering committee as well as launching it School House area. More recently have worked on cable issues in my community and am the liason between my school district and our cable provider for obtaining cable modems in our schools. These involvements have all dealt in some way with universal access for residents in the Western New York area, who because of economic conditions are unable to gain access to the information they need and when theyt need it...students as well as adults.

What I hope to learn:

On a personal level I hope to discover new ways other areas of our nation are trying to implement universal access. I'd also like to learn more about what the new laws have to offer.
