My experience in this area:

Have worked with our TN State Dpt of Ed (k12) for last 4 years on K12 Internet access; designed statewide dial-up network used by 10,000+ educators and K12 supporters in the process. Also my current role with the state is tracking of telecommunications regulatory and legislative actions as affect operation of public sector/state government.

What I hope to learn:

Where thrust of K12 community emphasis is placed: they are prime "customers" of the state government network(s) we build and manage. Also get sense of what's likely or not and workable or not from the regulators and policy makers point of view in achieving Telecom Act goals of library and K12 networking. Also assess likelihood of decisions' impact on our design and funding of state network - e.g. degree of impact K12 service discounts will have on how we procure network services and the budget impact on those networks and affect on public sector network-building partnerships.
