My experience in this area:

I am Educational Technology Specialist for my school district and we are currently in the early implementation stages of networking the district and providing Internet access. I am also heavily involved in providing in-service training for Internet use as well as many areas of technology use in the curriculum. In addition, I teach part-time in the Graduate and Professional Studies Program for Technology in Education at Rosemont College.

What I hope to learn:

I would like to learn how the Communications Act can assist public schools in realizing the potential of technology and the Internet as well as to learn how other schools are grappling with the challenges of bringing technology to the teaching and learning process in a meaningful and effective way. I hope to contribute a practical, grass-roots perspective related to the economic and logistical needs local schools must address, especially the need for personnel for support and staff development along with the challenges of finding time to provide such essential training and collaboration.
