My experience in this area:

While I work as a Library Technician, one of my degrees is in Computer Science. Our small community in Alaska is located on an island. This isolation means our access to current technology often lags far behind the rest of the U.S. I can provide good representation for the rural viewpoint.

What I hope to learn:

On August 22, the library will be installing the first 28.8 internet access connection in our community. The grant for providing this service will run out in one year. I hope to find ways to continue funding this project or insure continued public access through any commercial entities that follow.
