My experience in this area:

I have been a library media specialist with a degree from Simmons since 1972 and have fought for equal access and opportunities for small school libraries in 6 states where I have been media specialist in elementary, middle and high schools in relatively isolated areas. Equal access to technology is essential for the 21st century students and workers, no matter the size of community/student body or budget.

What I hope to learn:

I hope to have input to ensure that these small schools, communities and libraries are not left out of the loop as a result of their small numbers. If these libraries and schools cannot afford the equipment for multi-media, telecommunications and whatever comes on in the future, we will be denying a substantial portion of our population, simply because of "where they live"
