How I heard about Network Democracy:

From both Gloria Barber, Specialist-Library/Media, VA Department of Education and from Laurie Maak, Information Renaissance.

My experience in this area:

E-Mail contributions will reflect concerns, issues, and perspectives from the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) and to some extent agency representatives from the 15 states that compose SREB. My personal work during the last few years has been in the capacity of coordinating the use of technology in support of instruction for Fairfax County Public Schools, VA. I was also chairman of the Virginia Educational Technology Advisory Committee - advisory to the state board of education.

What I hope to learn:

To better understand the telecommunications issues and possibilities for public education Kdg through higher education and to provide a perspective and positions in support of the schools within the states we represent.

Additional comments:

Representatives from the SREB Educational Technology Cooperative will be meeting on September 25 - 27 for our annual meeting. Ira Fischman, Special Council, FCC, will meet with our group on the 25th to discuss the Telecommunciations Act and current status of the regulations.
