- How I heard about Network Democracy:
- Someone forwarded the information to a mailing list I am on.
- My experience in this area:
- I have been researching and writing about the
history and impact of the Net for the past several years,
and am a participant in the FCC universal service
proceeding. The FCC needs much more understanding
of the history and impact of the Internet and Usenet
to be able to write their rules
- What I hope to learn:
- I hope to be able to participate in the rules
making procedure and to help to open that procedure
up to the public who will be affected by the rules
and who should be able to provide input into the
drafting of those rules
- Additional comments:
- It is important for participants to see
that the FCC officials will take their
comments and discussion into account in drafting
rules on the issue of Universal Service as the NTIA
online meeting on the future of the Net in Nov. 1994 made
available important feedback that hasn't been considered yet.
