Fall Conference at Linden Hall -- Dawson, PA -- 12-14 November 1998

Dear Community Builder,
 
We hope you are preparing to attend the fall conference of
the Regional Coalition of Community Builders (RCCB) being
held November 12-14, 1998 at Linden Hall in
Dawson, Pennsylvania. This year's theme is
"Telling Our StoriesShaping Our Future".  By now you should
have received the conference brochure.  If you have not seen
it, then please contact us at the number above to request a
copy or additional copies for your community or
organization.
 
We are writing today to share with you an exciting feature
of this year's conference - the RCCB Mission Statement and
Structure proposal to be discussed and approved at the
conference.  As part of adopting the Mission and Structure
for RCCB, we will be electing our first formal RCCB Steering
Committee.  The RCCB proposed Mission and Structure and
Steering Committee election procedures have been developed
over the past year and a half of general RCCB and planning
group meetings and through dissemination of drafts to our
list of over 500 contacts in the region.
 
            We Are Looking for a few Good Leaders
 
Enclosed is a copy of the proposed RCCB Mission and
Structure and a Nomination Form for representatives to the
RCCB Steering Committee.  Please review these closely and
consider whether you or someone you know and have worked
with in your community wishes to serve on the Steering
Committee.  You can nominate yourself or another Community
Builder to serve as a Steering Committee representative,
even if you or your nominee is unable to attend the Linden
Hall Conference.
 
If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone,
please fill out the enclosed form. Please note that a
nomination will only be accepted if it is signed by the
nominee. You can fax the form in now to the RCCB office or
bring the form to the conference before Friday, November 13
at 6 PM the deadline for all Steering Committee nominations.

We hope you will help recruit good leaders to serve on the
Steering Committee.  We seek to identify and recruit leaders
from all counties in the region and with diverse backgrounds
and interests.  Please help us build the strong and diverse
leadership we need to take the RCCB into the 21st Century.
 
Again, we hope we will see you in November at Linden Hall.
It promises to be a rewarding and fun gathering of community
builders from across the southwest Pennsylvania region.
