Conference Hotel

The onsite conference sessions will be held at the Pittsburgh Hilton and Towers, located at the Point of the Three Rivers in Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh. Conference attendees are responsible for arranging their own travel and lodging.

A special conference rate is available if you indicate that you will be participating in the NSF conference Balancing Research and Practice. Please reserve a room by calling 1-800-HILTONS (1-800-445-8667). The special rate is guaranteed only until March 31, 1997, so please make your reservations early.

Airport Transportation

Airlines Transportation Company

Convenient shuttle service is available from the Pittsburgh International Airport to the Hilton Hotel and other downtown hotels. No reservation is required. The fare is $14.00 one way or $20.00 round trip. Travel time is 20 to 30 minutes.

You may purchase tickets at the ground transportation desk, located by the baggage claim on the lower level. Shuttle buses depart form the airport from 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM. On weekdays the shuttles depart every 30 minutes, and on weekends they depart every hour.

The Pittsburgh Hilton is a scheduled pick-up and drop-off point. For additional information call 412-488-7000.

Taxi Service

Taxis are available at ground transportation sites at the airport. Cost estimate is $28.50 to $30.00 one way.

Carriage Limousine

PAT bus

The 28X Airport Flyer offers service from the Pittsburgh International Airport to the Hilton Hotel. The fare is $1.95, which is to be paid when boarding. The operators do not carry change so be prepared with exact change. Travel time is 30 to 45 minutes. The 28X operates from 5:30 AM to 12:30 AM daily.

The bus departs from the lower level ground transportation bus stop (near baggage claim at the blue curb). The downtown Pittsburgh stop is Gateway Center #4, which is next to the Hilton Hotel.

To return to the Airport you can board the 28X at the Hilton Hotel in Gateway Center.
