Alan, One of our technology schools has had the students pick up the burden of pc maintenance and new wiring. This involvement has worked quite well. The school has even toyed with the idea of giving the students complete administrator access. The big problem that I see with giving complete access, is the ability to maintain control, privacy, confidentiality, etc. If you can sub-divide tasks to let the students perform "safe" functions, I think student admins are a great idea. At one point, one of our previous student admins was involved in an incident were a server was maliciously attacked. Although the student may not have been the perpetrator, it was acknowledged that he was involved in the incident. This incident could have had more serious effects if more access privileges were given to him.... jk sys admin, ckp On 27 Mar 1997, Alan Feldman wrote: > > Another related issue -- we have had much success in helping teachers see new > roles for students in the area of tech support.
