I've been reading and noting your rich comments, and identifying with most of them. Here in Houston, we have been struggling with the same issues: (1) being consumed with technology learning curves, preventing focus on the paradigms for learning in general; (2) reluctance of teachers to focus on reflective issues, giving themselves permission to struggle with new types of learning; (3) questioning a need for core competencies -- maybe the discovery of need and application for the technology will drive an an individual to seek the level and types of competencies to produce. Some very interesting thoughts... I have been sensing a real need to encourage teachers that their struggles are respected and necessary. ...Gaye
