Dear Kate, >Now what to do with it? It sounds like you have already thought of great ways to use your computers! http:www.col.k12.me.us/bcs For others who are trying to see this page, try this one http://www.col.k12.me.us/bcs/ Those three little slashes make a difference! and then to go right to your page, http://www.col.k12.me.us/bcs/grade5/grade5.html Your page looks great, Kate! >That large gap in skills is becoming a massive >chasm from district to district.... Content seems to be there at the >whim of the classroom teacher's interest for now... I agree.....but....it's like with anything. We can worry that others will not have the same opportunity...or we can just do what we do and hope to reach as many as we can. The use of the internet is like any other tool in teaching - some use it a lot and others not at all. At my school site it could be argued that my ONE class of Math 8 students are having a different mathematics curriculum than the other students. True...but...I don't think that is a reason for not offering it. My hope is that as I get better at using technology to present mathematics then other teachers will benefit from it. It is like being a pioneer. Not everyone wants to be a pioneer or is ready to be a pioneer but that doesn't mean that the pioneers should hold back and not try new things.
