It is almost impossible to stress how important they are when a large number of inexperienced or malicious users are on the system. However, robust backup systems can get relatively complex and expensive, especially when dealing with networked systems. CK:P developed the following backup system with the goal of balancing robustness with price. This document and the procedures they encompass will no doubt change to reflect the actual operating conditions.
