The education staff for Common Knowledge: Pittsburgh's first two years has three positions -- an Education Project Manager, a Curriculum and Training Specialist and a Project Teacher. As CK:P creates the Urban Research Laboratory, we will add additional Project Teachers to facilitate this new endeavor.
As a means of populating the Urban Research Laboratory and selecting its exemplary projects, an annual competition will be held. We expect to invite six new sites into the Laboratory and to expand research activities at three existing CK:P sites.
The tasks of the educational staff will continue in three broad areas -- teacher enhancement, development of curriculum resources, and coordination of the research networking activities at CK:P sites. The educational staff also maintain the gopher and World Wide Web servers which form an important element of the project's dissemination efforts.
