Research into network technologies in a K12 setting is bound to raise issues pertaining to curriculum, instruction, assessment, staff development, finance, and technology. In order to implement a quality program that is consistent with the overall framework of the Pittsburgh Public Schools, input from the various constituencies within the organization is essential.
The advisory committee consists of teachers, principals, support staff, central administration, board members, and project staff. The mission of the committee is to provide the necessary information and guidance to the project from the school district and local school perspective in order to increase the probability of success.
The participation of all members of the committee demonstrates a willingness on the part of the PPS community to share its expertise and learn in the process. Ultimately, the mission of all of those concerned is to increase the educational opportunities available to all students.
