Both institutions indicate that we are beginning to put a stress on their resources. We (a collaborative effort between CK:P and PPS Division of Computer Services) are beginning an experiment that will set up a modem pool in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. We would like to know if you would be willing to help us test this modem pool. The modem pool offers SLIP, PPP, and dial-up at speeds up to 28.8. You were chosen for this test because we value your opinion and expertise in this area. If you participate in this test, all that we ask of you is that you send us reports on how well the modem pool is working. If there are problems, we would like to hear about the nature of those problems. The modem pool has been tested over the last month and is stable. Assuming you are willing to try this out, I will send you another email note that will explain the details of the test. You will have to edit your scripts (either in Trumpet, Interslip, or whatever you use) to take advantage of this new resource. We appreciate your help with this. If all goes well on the test, we will begin to open this resource up to all CK:P users. Our goal is to have a modem pool with over 100 phone lines for this purpose. Thanks for your help....
