Gifted Resources - Enrichment Programs
A list of resources for anyone interested in pursuing independent enrichment in particular subject areas.
A world-wide, non-profit organization that promotes creative team-based problem solving competitions in a school program for students from kindergarten through college. (Membership fees required.)
Art, Math and Nature
Examples of mathematical patterns in art and in nature. Making the connections between Art, Math and Nature.
The John Hopkins University Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth
A comprehensive, university-based, pioneering program for students with extraordinary mathematical or writing abilities. All programs require admission through a talent search test.
The web site also includes a Curriculum Planner with sample lessons and activities for various content areas.
Center for Excellence in Education - CEE
The CEE was founded to help this nation's most precocious students to become leaders in science, technology, and business and to nurture understanding among international scholars.
The CEE also facilitates the Westinghouse Science Talent search.
Research in Gifted Education
The National Center on the Gifted and Talented
The mission of The National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented is to plan and conduct theory-driven quantitative and qualitative research that is problem-based, practice-relevant, and consumer-oriented. The center makes all its research findings available for a minimum charge.
ERIC Clearinghouse on Disabilities and Gifted Education
The collection of resources that includes lesson plans, abstracts of articles, and an email address for two-way communication.
Advocay Organizations for Gifted Education
The Council for Exceptional Children
An organization that advocates for gifted learners and students with disabilities. The Council produces a monthly journal and sponsors annual conferences.
The National Association for Gifted Children
The National Association for Gifted Children is an organization of parents, educators, other professionals and community leaders who unite to address the unique needs of all children and youth with demonstrated gifts and talents.
The Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education - PAGE
The state affiliate of the National Association for Gifted Children. PAGE advotes and lobbies for appropriate legislation for gifted students. A yearly conference is held every April. (1997 Conference - April 11, 12, at Sheraton Valley Forge Hotel, King of Prussia, PA)
