CK:P servers are set up to allow users the ability to set permissions on files and directories. Setting permissions specifies the type of outside access people may have to your files and directories.
Often, groups of people may want to work on files that are centrally located. For example, let's say a class of students and their teacher want to create a homepage that everyone in the class can work on. What this class needs is a directory that allows the class access to the files in it, but is restricted to outsiders.
To do this, someone must create the directory and specify its permissions to allow the class access to its files. It is the responsibility of the useradmin to create the privileges for classes to share files.
