Second Avenue and Wood Street, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Eight story brick building raised 12 inches and
moved 40 feet to make room for widening of Second Avenue. View of
building moved about half way, also old and new location. Gas, water,
sewer, elevator, electric light, steam heat and telephone service
maintained at all times and in constant use. Reinforced concrete
sidewalks being supported by beams attached to the steel frame, were
moved intact with the building. Business was transacted without
interruption during the entire time required for the preparation and
