North Side: Northview Heights

"Once part of Reserve Township, the Northview Heights area was annexed to Pittsburgh's North Side in 1931. In 1962, the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh opened a 999 unit housing project there at a cost of fourteen million dollars. This low rent housing community contains two 10-story tower buildings, seven 3-story walkups and 516 row houses, and stands isolated from the surrounding residential areas." (43)
