On 8 November 1997, Barry Chad, Assistant Head of the Pennsylvania Department, participated in
15 min + at The Andy Warhol Museum. The program was entitled "Gertrude Stein, Gertrude Stein." Mr. Chad, billed as "friend of Ms. Stein and Ms. Toklas," created a brochure for the evening and read aloud from some of Ms. Stein's works:
on the Warhol's 6th floor (Commercial Works and Sketchbooks) Mr. Chad read the "Rooms" section from Tender Buttons and the complete Lifting Belly;
on the Warhol's 5th floor (in front of "Rain Machine") Mr. Chad read/shouted, in competition with the sound of the water, Ms. Stein's word portrait, "Picasso."
