Mr. & Mrs. James Adams,
216 Goodrich St.,
Pittsburgh, Pa., North Side.Dear Mr. & Mrs. Adams:--
Below is a copy of a letter we have sent to all our Sales Agents and Offices, some seventy-five in number, telling of Hugh's death. We shall also have a notice in the Trade Papers, so that his many friends in the business will know of the sad accident.
There was universal [sic] sorry at our Office this morning, and many tears have been shed, for Hugh was a favorite with the Office Force.
Sincerely yours,
Marion G. Bryce
President.

United States Glass Co.,
Gentlemen:
It is with sincere regret that we announce the death of Ensign Hugh J. Adams who met with an accident yesterday by which both he and his Mechanic were instantly killed while flying over the ground at Rockaway Beach.
Hugh Adams was a self-made man, and it simply was a marvel the way he went into the Aviation School and, by sheer force of his perseverance, worked his way up to a Commission and one of the best Aviators in the Service. He was right in line to make the attempt to cross the Ocean in an air-plane, and it is exceedingly unfortunate that his short, but brilliant, career has been ended so suddenly.
He was universally esteemed by all the people in this Company; and I am sure that all who knew him will join with us in extending our sincere sympathy to his Parents, Brother and Sister in their bereavement.
Very truly yours,
UNITED STATES GLASS CO.
(Signed) Marion G. Bryce.
