A military funeral will be held this afternoon in the Central Presbyterian Church for Ensign Hugh J. Adams, who was killed last Monday at Rockaway Beach, L. I., when the seaplane in which he was riding with Chief Machinist's Mate H. B. Corey of Binghamton, N. Y., struck a hydrogen tank.

The body arrived yesterday morning and [was] taken to the Adams home, at 216 Goodrich street. A guard of honor was sent by Commander R. W. Cabanias of the Rockaway Naval Air Station. It is composed of five ensigns of the United States Naval Reserve Force, namely, T. B. Clemmons, V. M. Howlett, George Adamson, M. J. McDermott and J. C. Schwabe, Jr., Ensign Albert W. Evans was sent from the Naval Air Station at Pensacola, Fla., where Ensign Adams trained.

Ensign W. P. Hahn has requested that all naval aviators and Navy officers report at room 144, Union Arcade, at 1:15 this afternoon to attend the funeral. Naval aviators will wear the forest green uniform and leggings, and other Naval officers will wear the dress blue. Aviator mechanics, quartermasters and enlisted men will wear dress blue, white hats and leggings. A naval bugler is being sought and a volunteer is desired.

The escort will form in Cherry way and march to the Central Presbyterian Church to accompany the funeral procession to Uniondale Cemetery. A squad of mounted police will head the cortege. Color bearers, honorary pall-bearers, bearers, firing squad, naval aviators and naval officers from Carnegie Tech under Commander Harrison will follow in the order named.

Ensign Adams was a member of Olympia Lodge No. 808, F & A. M. of New York, New York Consistory, Mecca Shrine, Allegheny Lodge No. 339, B. P. O. E., Columbia Boat Club, Western Glass Pottery Association, Pittsburgh Aquatic Club and the C. T. M. A. A. of A.
