Who Owns Democracy?
March 19 - March 30, 2001
Welcome to the National Dialogue on
Money and Politics, hosted by
Information Renaissance
with support from National Issues
Forums Research. This non-partisan Dialogue involved
250 citizens, governmental policy makers, and representatives of
businesses and organizations. A summary
report is now available online.
The Dialogue was organized around three major policy choices:
Choice 1: |
Reform the Campaign Fund-Raising System |
Choice 2: |
Rein in Lobbyists and Politicians |
Choice 3: |
Publicize Political Donations, Don't Regulate Them |
These choices are developed in an
Issue Book on Money and Politics
provided by Public Agenda for National Issues Forums.
National Dialogues are a part of Information Renaissance's
Network Democracy program. This program seeks to expand opportunities
for education and public participation in governmental activities
through use of the Internet. Information Renaissance and the National
Issues Forums do not advocate a specific solution or point of
view.
