  • X-topic: Choice 3

The word from our webmaster is that, even though the number of postings has dropped since the weekend, the number of visitors to the site has increased. Since I know that some of you are lurking, I know that I am not talking to myself when I encourage you to share your thoughts.

Some choices resonate more strongly than others so perhaps Choice 3 does not compel you to post as much as the other two choices. If that is the case, then I ask you to share why.

Remember that the choices are not intended to be action items that we vote on. Instead, the are policy directions or sets of action that seem to be based on a particular definition of the problem. How do Choice 3 supporters define the problem and what values motivate them to support the actions outlined in Choice 3?

This is our final day with Choice 3. On Thursday, we will step back and reflect on our journey. We will look for common ground and for the things that we still need to resolve. Our common ground will not be a vote for a particular choice. Instead common ground is something that we create out of our shared concerns and values. Let's make a commitment to spend adequate time with Choice 3 so that we can be assured that we have looked through all three lenses.

Otherwise, we run the risk of overlooking a voice in our democracy.

Taylor
