Rich Americans can buy their way into the political system whether they are running for office or supporting another politician. I heard a few people saying that "money does not result in votes, but that it is voter ignorance." It is true money does not directly result in votes for a candiadate, but it does play an indirect role. Often candiadates gain their influence and political "weight" from wealthy contributors. As a result, only the candidates with the most support from big business and the rich, are even able to survive in an election.
