I totally agree with Charles Ratliff that we need reciprocity of treatment for adult educators, whether they teach in K-12 adult schools or community college non-credit classes. Our current system is unfair to our teachers. I would wholeheartedly support a proposal that allowed teachers to meet the minimum standards for teaching by possessing an appropriate teaching credential or by meeting local community college requirements.
An "either/or" approach would remove the some of the burden from the teachers, and provide a larger pool of eligible applicants and more flexibility for the schools.
